THE boss of Solent NHS Trust, which runs services in Basingstoke, is set to stand down.

Dr Ros Tolcher is leaving her post as chief executive of Solent NHS Trust to take up a new role heading up Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust in Yorkshire, where she grew up.

Dr Tolcher said: “Yorkshire is my home county and I have long planned to move back when the right time came. I am immensely proud of all that has been achieved within Solent and will be moving on with a degree of sadness. However, I am very confident that we will attract a strong field of potential successors to my role and that the trust will continue to thrive.”

Trust chairman Alistair Stokes said: “I would like to personally thank Ros for her visionary leadership and commitment to improving health services for local people.

“I am grateful for the contribution that she has made to the trust and wish her the very best in her new role. We will be looking to recruit a strong candidate as our new chief executive.”
