A TOTAL of 38 homes have flooded in Buckskin following today’s heavy rain.

The most recent homes to flood are in Quantock Close and Prescelly Close, adding to the flooded homes in Antrim Close, Bodmin Close, Exmoor Close, Holyrood Court and Sperrin Close.

Meanwhile 60 Royal Navy personnel from HMS Sultan in Portsmouth have stacked sandbags in Whitchurch in case the River Test bursts its banks.

Of particular concern are properties in the Test Road area of the town.

This follows the arrival of 10 Army personnel from Blandford, Dorset, yesterday to help with flood-stricken areas of the borough.

A pumping station has flooded and partially failed in Upton Grey.
