DETECTIVES have launched an investigation after a woman’s body was found on a balcony at Crown Heights yesterday morning.

Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that the body was discovered by a member of the public at the flats in Alencon Link, at around 8.45am.

Officers are working to identify the woman and establish the circumstances surrounding her death. The cause of death is unknown at this time and is being treated as unexplained.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place today.

Police are working closely with the community, carrying out house-to-house enquiries.

Anyone who saw or heard anything unusual between 9pm on Sunday night and 9am on Monday morning is asked to contact police on 101, quoting Operation Astute.
