POLICE are urging parents to warn their children about the dangers of entering flood waters.
Hampshire Constabulary is working with Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, Hampshire County Council and other local authorities to co-ordinate a response to the current flooding and persistent storm conditions.
They are warning that floodwater can be contaminated with sewerage and other hidden hazards.
Inspector Mark Lewis, leading the response working group, said: “Flood water can seem very attractive to youngsters and dogs to play in, but we would strongly advise staying out of it, and keep yourself safe from potential harm.”
