A WOMAN who was banned from being drunk in a public place, was found staggering around a friend’s garden.

Dominique Woodcock, of Rowan Close, Tadley, was given an anti-social behaviour order by magistrates in October last year to stop her from being drunk in public.

But at 2am on Wednesday, January 8, the 30-year-old was found in a drunken state in the garden of a friend’s house, just yards from her own home.

David Fosler, prosecuting at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court, said: “At 2am, police received a phone call from a friend of Miss Woodcock to say she was outside in the front garden, very drunk.

“The friend was concerned both for her own safety and that of Miss Woodcock. The police saw Miss Woodcock was staggering so much that she could barely stand up.”

The court heard that Woodcock, who pleaded guilty to the breach, had a problem with alcohol addiction, and started drinking on the particular day when she became concerned about her father’s health.

District Judge Philip Gillibrand said: “I hope you are able to deal with the problem you have got here. I do not think there is any need to impose anything other than a lenient sentence.”

He fined her £80, with £50 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
