VILLAGERS concerned about a new estate in Odiham have handed a petition to planners.
More than 120 people signed the petition, raising concerns about new proposals for the Hatchwood Farm site, off Farnham Road.
In January last year, Hart District Council approved an outline plan by Stax Development Ltd to build 89 homes on a site at the eastern end of the village.
Developer Charles Church has now submitted a more detailed application for the site, giving an idea of how the proposed estate will look.
But some villagers say the new application was submitted just before Christmas, giving objectors little time to respond, and claim that the new developer has not consulted with residents.
They add that the new plans include more five-bedroom houses than before and do not adequately address drainage issues.
Sonja Smedley, who lives in Heronswood and handed the petition to planning officer Emma Whittaker, said: βThe petition was really to keep this on the agenda. We know that something is going to be built there β we just want it to be done well.β
On the planning application, Charles Church lists several changes which it says improves the plan. These include reducing the number of two-and-a-half storey houses, breaking up one particular street to make it less dense with houses, and reducing the visual height of buildings.
