AN OFFICE in Basingstoke town centre could be transformed into 14 flats.

Edison House, in Winchester Street, owned by Scottish and Southern Energy, is in the process of being sold to Applecourt Limited.

Applecourt has now submitted two options for developing the vacant building to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

The first option would transform the site into nine, one-bedroom flats and five, two-bedroom flats. The second would see eight, one-bedroom flats and six, two-bedroom flats.

As previously reported in The Gazette, SSE decided to sell the office last June because it is considered “surplus to requirements”.
