THE boys played to a full house on both nights (January 17-18), and boy did they entertain.

It’s been nine months since they last headlined in the town and whilst they were good then they are amazing now, moving to another level completely.

This was a show of style, flair, panache and sheer entertainment, combining original material and covers.

Host of the show Charlie from Reading’s 107FM said: “Surely this is the best (as yet) unsigned band in the country?”

Concept - consisting of Karim Newton, Matthew Goodenough, Nathan Gittens, Scott Dicks and Ben Selley - are surely now on the cusp of a recording deal.

With a purpose built stage, intricate lighting and personalised professional videos, Concept transformed The Haymarket.

The show began with a personalised video of each band member showing them in their younger years, which was accompanied by ear piercing screams as each band member’s name flashed onto the screen.

But that was nothing compared to the noise that greeted them as they materialised through the dark and into position for their opening song.

The boys opened the show with a blaze of lighting and colour, and were accompanied by their own band consisting of Danny Davis on drums, Nathan Aylward on bass guitar and keyboards, giving a whole new edge to the Concept boys.

The opening set consisted of high tempo songs that showed just how polished their performance and set list has become. The second set was preceded by video clips of the boys humorously answering twitter question from their army of fans from all over the world, before re-entering the stage with more wonderfully executed covers and originals sending the crowd into a frenzy.

The show concluded with their new single Get Down, which had the whole crowd on their feet and the night ending with a standing ovation.

In nine months, Concept have moved to such a high level in terms of performance and ability to connect with an audience, it’s now only a matter of time before they become Basingstoke’s most famous sons! Watch this space!
