IT WAS a positive start to the New Year for a Basingstoke nursery school which has been graded as “good” by Ofsted.

An inspector from the education watchdog reported that The Hatchlings Nursery School, in Worting Road, “provides a happy busy environment where children make good progress in their learning and development.”

The nursery is one of two operated by Hatchlings Nursery School Limited and has 40 children on roll.

It registered in 2005 and operates from four playrooms.

To improve, Ofsted reported that The Hatchlings should enable the two to three-year-old children to be independently creative.
