IT WAS a good end to the year for Winklebury Infant School which was graded as “good” by Ofsted.

Inspectors from the education watchdog, who delivered their verdict in December, reported: “Teaching is effective, pupils enjoy learning and standards have risen well above average in reading, writing and mathematics.”

Christine Clayton, headteacher of the school, in Willoughby Way, Winklebury, said: “The Ofsted report celebrates the tremendous amount of work that has been done over recent years.

“Everyone in the school community can be very proud.”
