A BASINGSTOKE man has been arrested in connection with a robbery at a shop in Popley on Christmas Eve.
The 29-year-old is in police custody after being arrested in connection with the incident at McColl’s newsagents, in Abbey Road.
As previously reported in The Gazette, a man walked into the shop at 7.30am on December 24 and threatened a shop assistant while holding a knife.
The man, who had his face covered with a bandana, demanded money and cigarettes, and left the shop with about £200 in cash and several boxes of cigarettes.
