A ROBBER threatened a shop worker with a knife during a robbery this morning.
The man made off with £200 in cash and several boxes of cigarettes after the raid at the McColl's newsagents in Abbey Road, Popley.
He entered the store at 7.30am and demanded cash and cigarettes.
He is described as black, around 6ft tall and of medium build.
The robber wore a black coat with the hood pulled up and a bandana across his face. He wore blue jeans and blue trainers.
Detective Constable Nick Hines said: “This type of incident in relatively rare in Basingstoke. There may have been several people going to work or getting a newspaper at the time of the robbery.
“Did you see anything? Do you know who is responsible for this robbery?”
