STRONG winds and heavy rain are buffeting the South, causing travel disruption for people in the run-up to Christmas.

The Met Office has issued an amber warning for heavy rain for much of the South until tomorrow morning. It also predicts wind speeds to reach up to 60mph.

South West Trains has warned of “severe disruption” this afternoon, with all services running at reduced speed, and some delayed or cancelled.
