SCHOOLGIRL Millie Clay has been collecting gifts for animals that are looked after by a popular animal charity.
Millie, who lives in Falkland Road, Popley, Basingstoke, is collecting Christmas gifts for cats and dogs living at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.
The schoolgirl has gone on a charity tour, visiting shops around the town, including Tesco and Poundland, in Chineham, and Pets Corner, in Homebase, Basingstoke.
On her travels, Millie has collected a box full of goodies for the animals including various toys and tins of food.
The nine-year-old, who attends |St Mary’s Church of England School, in Old Basing, volunteers at the home after developing a love for animals.
Millie will finish her fundraising effort on December 20, before taking her goodies to the home.
Her proud mum, Tracey Hayman, said: “She is a lovely girl and just thinks about animals all the time.
“She wants to be a vet when she is older and always comes with me when we take our dog to the vets.”
