DRESSED in colourful onesies, Basingstoke bikers roared off to Reading to deliver toys for children’s charity Barnardo’s.

Around 25 members of the Basingstoke Motorcycle Riders Group – which is a Facebook forum set up four years ago – took part in the annual Reading Toy Run.

The Basingstoke contingent met outside DIY store Wickes, just off Churchill Way West, Basingstoke, before heading up to Reading last Sunday.

The group’s organiser, Graeme Handley, 36, of Middleton Gardens, South View, said the gifts are for underprivileged and vulnerable children, and will be given out to those in Barnado’s care across the UK.

Before taking part in the charity convoy, the mechanic, who works at Basingstoke Motorcycles, said: “There will be a good 2,000 bikes taking part.

“I did last year’s ride – it was just me and one other from the forum, so I’m really happy with the Basingstoke turnout today.

“Everyone has chipped in to buy football shirts and some toys to donate to Barnardo’s.”
