A MAN from Basingstoke has been arrested after a young girl was grabbed from behind in South Ham.

The 36-year-old man was released on bail until Tuesday, January 14 pending further enquiries.

The incident, described as suspicious by police, took place at 4.40pm on Tuesday, December 10, as the 10-year-old girl walked along Pinkerton Road, near its junction with Paddock Road.

A man grabbed her from behind but she kicked out and then ran home uninjured.
