THE trust which runs Basingstoke hospital has won a national award for serving the community.
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust picked up a WOW! award at a ceremony which took place in London.
The organisation beat competition from the private and public sector to be named the best organisation in the Serving the Community category.
HHFT introduced the awards system within the trust in 2009, and award winners are celebrated four times a year.
The national award ceremony celebrates all the organisations which use the WOW! awards.
HHFT chief nurse and chief operating officer Donna Green said: “I am so proud that the work of our staff has led to us receiving this award, and even more so that it reflects that we put excellent patient care at the heart of everything we do.
“I write personally to thank each member of staff who receive a WOW! nomination and it is one of the most pleasurable parts of my job to read the nominations and hear that we are getting things right for our patients and their families in so many areas.”
