CHILDREN from an Overton nursery have met a serviceman who has just returned from a tour in Afghanistan.
The youngsters at Little Steps Montessoir Nursery remembered those who had given their lives fighting for their country, before hearing from Major Tim Petransky. He talked to the children about his experiences.
Headteacher Brenda Sampson said: “The children enjoyed trying on the equipment and clothing, and went home talking about seeing ‘a real soldier!’”
Major Petransky added: “It was an honour to have been asked to come along and to help educate a new generation in remembering the sacrifices of our armed forces.”
