THE HEADLINE acts for next year’s Basingstoke Live have been announced.

Rap duo Krept and Konan will take to the main stage on Saturday, July 12, while 1970s soul act The Real Thing will headline the following day.

South London act Krept and Konan were named Best Newcomer at this year’s MOBO Awards, while The Real Thing are most famous for their worldwide hit You to Me Are Everything.

The free festival, now in its eighth year, will take place in the War Memorial Park, and will mark the end of Basingstoke Festival 2014.

Councillor Cathy Ossleton, cabinet member for partnerships, said: “Basingstoke Live offers something for every music lover and the involvement of these two very different headline acts underlines that.

“I look forward to the announcement of many more diverse acts featuring talent from the borough in the coming months to set up another fantastic festival for the family.”
