A PENSIONER is warning people to be aware of a postal scam.
Brian Flaherty, from Black Dam, Basingstoke, received a letter in the post to say he was the beneficiary of £66,500.
The letter said that he needed to pay a £20 admin fee by cheque to CDS and to provide proof of residence such as an electricity bill, and proof of identity such as a passport.
The 72-year-old said: “I realised it was a scam straight away.”
Mr Flaherty has reported the matter to Trading Standards.
