Woman conned on M3 at Hook
A WOMAN was conned into handing over cash on the slip road for the M3 at Hook.
The scam took place at around 10am last Friday on the slip road at junction five.
A man in a white van flagged down the victim’s car. He said he needed money for his family and offered to sell a gold ring.
The woman gave him £40 but the man took the ring and the money.
The police said similar scams have been reported in Hampshire and that gold items offered for sale are often highly-polished copper.
