Man named after Oakley rail death
AN INQUEST has been opened and adjourned into the death of a man who was struck by a freight train near Oakley.
Daniel Choonucksing, 38, from Old Basing, was hit by the train near the Battledown flyover between Kempshott and Oakley, just after 4pm on Thursday, August 29.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
Today Andrew Bradley, coroner for North East Hampshire, opened and adjourned the inquest until Wednesday, November 20 at Alton Magistrates' Court.
