Year 3 children were rewarded for high attendance
PUPILS from a Basingstoke junior school were rewarded for their high attendance with a trip to a farm.
The class of Year 3 children from South View Junior School, in Shooters Way, spent the day at Finkley Down Farm, near Andover, as an end-of-year treat for having the best attendance in the whole school.
The 30 youngsters won the reward after achieving 96.7 per cent attendance for the year, which was higher than any other class.
They travelled by coach to the family attraction, where they enjoyed feeding farm animals, handling tiny chicks, brushing down ponies and using the outdoor adventure play area.
The children took a picnic to the farm and also spent some time in the gift shop choosing a souvenir to take home.
Class teacher Jenny Roberts said: “They had a lovely time and particularly enjoyed feeding the goats and using the trampolines.
“The treat is a great way of rewarding the class with the best attendance, and the children were really pleased to win. They definitely deserved it.”
