A TEAM of cyclists from a Basingstoke store joined colleagues across the country on a marathon bike ride for charity.

The four members of staff from Marks and Spencer in Festival Place took part in M&S BIKE 24 challenge to raise money for five charities.

Team Amazingstoke visited Rockingham Motor Racing Circuit in Corby last month for the 24-hour endurance event. Each lap of the circuit helped raise funds for M&S’s charity partners Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Action Medical Research, the Marie Keating Foundation, Action Cancer and Prostate Cancer UK.

Representing Basingstoke M&S were Ben Kernick, Kathy Beasley, Simon Paul and John Costello. Caroline Rowe, manager at the Basingstoke branch, said: “It was a great experience to see our team take part in the challenge, and we’re really proud of the efforts they put in to raise so much money for five very worthy charities.

“It was a great boost for the team, knowing that the whole of M&S were behind them.”
