HUNDREDS of parents had fun in the sun on a fete-tasic day for two Basingstoke schools.
The annual fete, organised by the parent teacher association at Kings Furlong Junior and Infant schools, in Chestnut Drive, Kings Furlong, raised cash for school projects.
Attractions on the day included a dog show, street dancing, musical performances by pupils at the schools, and stalls run by parents, selling food and bric-a-brac. There were also games like hook-a-duck and a fire truck from AWE Aldermaston.
Helen McClure, chairman of the parent teacher association, said around 400 people turned up for the fete.
She said: “It’s been brilliant and the weather has brought everybody out. This year, we have been able to showcase some of the children’s talents, like singing, street dancing and piano playing.”
Money raised from the event will go towards buying outdoor musical instruments for the infant school, and new books for the junior school library
