A NORTH Hampshire woman is all geared up to head for Las Vegas for a tournament of teasing.

Emma Knight, 24, has been selected from hundreds of applicants from around the world to take part in The Burlesque Hall of Fame’s ‘Tournament of Tease’ in the party capital of the USA.

Emma, who performs under the stage name Eliza DeLite, was born and brought up in Baughurst and is a former pupil of The Hurst Community College, in Baughurst.

She studied photography and dance at Queen Mary’s College before developing a passion for burlesque at De Montfort University in Leicester.

Now based in Leicester, she has since gone on to forge a career in burlesque and was last year named as Best British Female at the World Burlesque Games 2012 in London.

Emma, right, will be competing for Best Debut at the tournament of tease on Saturday, June 1, at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

She was selected from among more than 300 applicants from around the world and said: “I am very excited. It will be my first time in Las Vegas and my first time in America so it will be an experience.”

She said her career had taken off since her win at the World Burlesque Games, adding: “I am probably more prepared now. I don’t know how big the audience will be but I am anticipating it will be quite a big event.”
