A POPULAR charity event, in which walkers can stroll through the grounds of a private estate, is returning this year.
St Michael’s Hospice Woofs and Wellies fundraiser will be held on April 28, when participants can admire the beautiful scenery from the Earl of Portsmouth’s grounds in Farleigh Wallop.
Last year, nearly 250 walkers and 70 dogs took part, and this year it is hoped the event will be just as successful and raise £6,000 for the hospice, in Aldermaston Road.
Walkers can choose one of three routes of five, eight or 12 miles, starting at Home Farm.
Pat Darty, events manager for the hospice, said: “This event offers a unique opportunity of walking around normally off-limits countryside on a set route.”
Walkers can pre-register by visiting stmichaels hospice.org.uk/events or register on the day at the barn at Home Farm.
Registration is open up until 9.30am for the 12-mile walk and 11am for the five and eight-mile routes.
Entrance costs £8 for an adult, £10 for an adult and a dog, and £4 for a child.
