SUPERHEROES showed off their incredible powers at a fashion show to raise money for a new pre-school building.

Children from Castle Hill Pre-School designed their own costumes and came up with special powers, including superhero stars that lit the way and kept people safe, and superhero bubbles that made good people happy and froze bad people to prevent them from causing trouble.

The youngsters used fabric paint to draw designs on white t-shirts and made their own capes to parade in front of parents watching the show in the Spencer Room at Fort Hill Community School, in Winklebury, Basingstoke.

Around 40 children aged between two and four took part in the event which raised more than £100 for the pre-school, to go towards the cost of building a new base.

It currently operates from a cabin in the school grounds in Kenilworth Road, but Des Martin, manager of the pre-school, said they will eventually need new premises.

She added: “It has a limited life-span so we are raising money to have a new building within the site.”

Mrs Martin said the children chose the music to accompany them on stage in the fashion show, and added: “It was very much their show, and the response from parents was excellent.”
