A CAREERS fair for job hunters will be held later this month at Basingstoke Discovery Centre.

Employers looking to hire will be available to talk about current vacancies and what they look for in new applicants.

Representatives from colleges and univer-sities will also be there to talk about how to get the right training and qualifications. The fair will offer one-to-one advice on CV writing, job searching, and interviews.

The event has been organised by a partnership between Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Job Centre Plus, the Basingstoke Consortium, Queen Mary’s College, Basingstoke College of Technology, and the Discovery Centre.

The day will include a number of workshops aimed at helping people get the job they want. People wishing to attend are urged to book early as spaces are limited.

The event has been welcomed by Basingstoke MP Maria Miller, who said: “This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for work or wanting to improve their skills to get help and guidance.”

The fair runs from noon to 7pm at the Discovery Centre, in Festival Place, on Monday, February 25. To book a place, email partnerships@basingstoke.gov.uk.
