STOLEN STONES Sandstone coping stones worth £2,000 have been stolen from Marske Hall, in Marske near Redcar. Thieves removed the stones from the top of a 15ft wall at some time between Wednesday January 2 and Thursday January 10. A small white van was seen in the area at the time. SIGN REMOVAL Stockton Borough Council are removing redundant signage from across the area. More than 70 ‘no waiting at any time’ signs and ten signs advertising a new road layout have already been removed by highway inspectors in an attempt to de-clutter highways throughout the borough.

LA BOHEME World famous opera La Boheme will be shown at Teesside’s Showcase Cinema tomorrow (Tuesday January 15) at 7.15pm as part of The Royal Opera House’s Cinema Season. Tickets are £12.50 and £10 for students and Insider members. An encore performance will be screened on Sunday January 20 at 1pm.

ORANGE DAY Teesside University is hosting an Orange Day to raise funds for the MS Society on Friday, January 18 from 4pm to 6pm. The event, which features music and tapas, will be held in The Hub at the university’s Student Union. Entrance is free.

PLANT DESIGN A six week course on planting design will run at Middlesbrough’s Stewart Park from 9.30am to 12.30pm every Saturday, beginning Saturday February 9.
