ARMED officers swooped on Basingstoke town centre this afternoon as part of an operation targeting drug dealers.

The high profile operation which has been running since yesterday, is being carried out by officers from the North and East Hampshire operational command unit and specialist operations units, including the roads policing unit, force support unit, tactical firearms support unit and the dog support unit.

Now I may be wrong, but surely the town centre in the afternoon is hardly a thriving centre of drug dealing I'd have thought.
It's usually crowded with students and pensioners sheltering from the summer rain, (it's Wimbledon fortnight!)

Surely raiding low profile estates would be far more beneficial. You have to think like a druggie and keep out of the busy areas.

But as I don't watch 'The Bill' I'm probably getting it all wrong?

I feel some comforted to know that the keystone cops have been let loose with firearms in the town. NOT. I always wondered where the phrase 'shot yourself in the foot' came from, I think I have a good idea now.

Man - is this website slow or what! It makes Basingstoke Web look fast - still, at least this one is relatively secure.

That's naughty Picket, at least this site has the excuse that all the ads take time to load.

A fast forum is 'Doughnut-City.co.uk

It's only fast coz noone uses it ;-) (comment made in the interest of balance).

In fairness, it is not this site that is slow. It is the dozens of add servers it uses to fill the screen up. Some of them are set to 'stall' on purpose so all you see is the add for a period of time. I see nothing as I have a masking program that strips it all out ;-)

Do you have another feature that prevents you from reading previous posts too Picket? Yeh, I thought so, it works too well!

We've drifted 'off topic' as usual..............
