ARMED officers swooped on Basingstoke town centre this afternoon as part of an operation targeting drug dealers.
The high profile operation which has been running since yesterday, is being carried out by officers from the North and East Hampshire operational command unit and specialist operations units, including the roads policing unit, force support unit, tactical firearms support unit and the dog support unit.

It's usually crowded with students and pensioners sheltering from the summer rain, (it's Wimbledon fortnight!)
Surely raiding low profile estates would be far more beneficial. You have to think like a druggie and keep out of the busy areas.
But as I don't watch 'The Bill' I'm probably getting it all wrong?
