Hospital invites all job-seekers
BASINGSTOKE hospital - the town's largest employer - is holding a recruitment event for a range of non-medical jobs.
The hospital has 2,400 staff on its books, but not all are doctors or nurses.
With more than 50 different careers on offer, the NHS foundation trust is looking to recruit a wide range of staff, from medics to maintenance.
And to help keep its workforce at full strength, the trust is holding a weekend event on March 29 and 30, between 10am and 4pm, at The Ark conference centre, next to the hospital.
Human resources director Yvonne Coventry said: "Although we have many nurses and doctors, we also employ staff in support roles such as secretarial or maintenance.
"We are encouraging people who are looking at changing their career, wanting promotion or part-time temporary positions to come along and chat with our staff."
Mrs Coventry said it would be possible to apply on the day, have an interview and even look around the hospital.
She added: "We believe that great care starts with our people and that means great benefits and support. It also includes a genuine commitment to training and a strong vision for the future."
