Strike date announced

CHAOS is to hit Hampshire's rail network after drivers for the south's biggest train operator voted to strike over pay.

Seventy-six per cent of South West Trains' drivers voted in favour of industrial action in a ballot held by train drivers' union ASLEF.

Today they announced that their action will start with a four-day strike which begins on March 31.

A typical train driver's salary with South West Trains currently stands at £36,925, but drivers say they could earn a similar amount with rival companies but only have to work four days a week.

Now this is the answer as to why people choose to drive themselves to work rather than get the train.

How about this, tell the 76% of drivers to go and work for the rivals.
