Old Basing neighbourhood policing team
- PCSO Ellen-Louise Beardsell
PCSO 15439 Beardsell joined Hampshire Constabulary in January 2013 and has recently taken up the role of PCSO in Basingstoke in the area of Old Basing and Lychpit. PCSO Beardsell can be seen regularly patrolling the Old Basing and Lychpit area on a bicycle.

PCSO 14735 Strauss joined Hampshire Constabulary in November 2009 and has recently taken up the role of PCSO in Chineham. PCSO Strauss can be seen regularly patrolling the Chineham area on a bicycle.
- Mr James Charlton
PC Charlton has been a police officer for over seven years. In April 2011 he will have been the community beat manager for Chineham for 5 years.
PC Charlton is one of Hampshire Constabulary's' tactical cycle-trained officer's and is currently learning British Sign Language with the intention of becoming a police 'Link Officer' for the deaf community.
About this neighbourhood
Old Basing and Lychpit is a large semi-rural area that borders Basingstoke town. Both of these areas consist of predominately privately owned houses. An infant and junior school are both located within the village, and have close ties to St Mary’s church. There are also many small business within the area.
Crime prevention activities are constantly in use in the area to combat crimes being committed. Most of this neighbourhood is covered by Neighbourhood Watch Schemes.
