Hospice support is much appreciated

Sir.–I would like to thank the local community of Basingstoke and north Hampshire for supporting the 2012 House to House Campaign in aid of St Michael’s Hospice (North Hants) throughout June and August.
This year’s collections raised a total of £8,036.55 which is wonderful.
All of the services of the hospice are provided free of charge to patients and their families, and the money raised will go towards our annual running costs which now stand at £3.3million, of which £2.7m needs to be raised through fundraising and retail activities.
The continued support of the local community and our volunteers is hugely important to everyone at St Michael’s Hospice, and without this generosity and kindness, we would be unable to provide the vital services to patients across north Hampshire.
