Concern over proposal

Sir.–Sentinel announced last week that they have bought the Eli Lilly site alongside the Victoria site along Kingsclere Road.

We have had many residents contact us, concerned about the comments from Sentinel executives who are quoted in the article.

Lemon Land proposed 472 units of housing alongside the college, and the council’s now ‘unlawful’ and ‘irrational’ Local Plan proposed 500 – but Sentinel said in your article that “they can improve on the overall number”.

We want to know, and so do our residents, what do they mean by that?

One of the biggest issues raised in opposition to Lemon Land’s plans was the density and urban cramming.

It would be a mistake for Sentinel to begin to consult people when they have in mind a more dense development.
