Sir.–I would just like to say “thank you” to the person who thought it amusing to walk on the bonnet of my funeral vehicle and jump on the windscreen.
It must be very satisfying to damage property for no other reason than malice, but to put an undertakers’ vehicle out of action must give particular pleasure. However, to me, it seems more than a little sad.
Not that we ask for any special preference in terms of vandalism, but respect for the dead I would hope still counts for something.
