Mobility scooters ‘driven like cars’

Sir.–Why are more and more people riding their mobility scooters on the roads as if they were cars?

I recently saw a gentleman riding his mobility scooter on the inside lane of the Viables roundabout. I was amazed!

I went round again thinking I have to take a photo of this, but he was off down Cranbourne Lane before I had a chance!

He was obviously going at speed, and that made me think, ‘why isn't he wearing some form of head protection?’ Perhaps it would be an idea that rather than riding on the road or the pavement, mobility scooter users should use available cycle lanes?
