Great cause for a great occasion

Sir.–I am writing to ask your readers to be part of something great and join the Diabetes UK team at this year’s Bupa Great South Run, taking place on Sunday, October 28.
Across the South East, there are about 361,240 people living with diabetes, as well as around 95,400 undiagnosed. Diabetes is serious – it can lead to devastating complications such as blindness, kidney failure, heart disease, stroke and amputation.
Diabetes UK is Bupa’s nominated charity for this year’s Bupa Great Run Series, which includes the Bupa Great South Run, and we are working together to try and prevent people developing Type 2 diabetes.
