Appreciation for kind generosity

Sir.–I would like to thank all those Basingstoke citizens who donated to the Basingstoke Lions Club annual Christmas collections held during December, these took place in The Malls, Chineham Shopping Centre, The Co-op in Winklebury, Homebase store, Linden Market in Old Basing and Central Studio.

The total raised was £2,900, and we were able to distribute the monies prior to Christmas to various groups, adults and children who we knew needed help at this time of the year.

We all know that there are many collections for good causes at Christmas time, but are always amazed by the kindness of people in willing to help the less fortunate in our society, so it is on behalf of these people, that I thank you all for your generosity.
