Thanks to all who helped

Sir.-The Royal British Legion Basingstoke and Overton branch would like to thank all supermarkets, shops, offices, clubs, schools, and all the collectors and distributors, and especially the general public who donated to the 2011 Poppy Appeal. We have raised more than last year.

Our total to date, including charity cheques, is £52,161.16 and there is still more to come in, as our year end is September 30, 2012, so we should have further increases on the total.

I would also like to thank all those who took part in the November Remembrance Day parade and service. Again, a big thank you to all the schools who took part and also the general public who were there. The 2011 event was a special day, with it being our 90th anniversary, and the attendance showed we will always remember.
