Intrigued by use of the word trust

Sir.–I was very surprised at the Liberal Democrat South Ham Focus (August 2010) that has been put through the letterboxes of the houses in South Ham.

I was very intrigued by the front page article entitled “Tory handouts for Top Executives” and then the summing up in big black print... “You simply can’t trust the Tories.”

I was intrigued because it reads as though the Liberal Democrats are arch-enemies of the Tories and not their friends and collaborators.

I also wondered if the editor of Focus had only just realised that truth about the Tories. If so, it doesn’t say much for the political awareness and knowledge of Liberal Democrat members if it takes them so long to come to that conclusion “that you simply can’t trust the Tories.”

How much longer can this farcical one-sided coalition go on?
