Sir.–A member of our family, Colin Wells, died suddenly a couple of weekends ago.
He had worked for local funeral directors Spencer and Peyton for several years prior to his death. Because Colin worked at the funeral directors, the staff there said they wanted to arrange the funeral, as it would be quite fitting.
However, what we didn’t expect was the time, care and effort that all the staff went to – to say goodbye to Colin.
Every effort was made to make sure the occasion was just as he would have wanted it. They even provided extra cars, and closed up shop for the afternoon, making sure that nothing was interrupted or indeed rushed.
We know Colin was a valued member of their staff.
However, they also showed everyone that he was a treasured friend as well.
The whole family would like to say the biggest thank you to all the staff at Spencer and Peyton for all their efforts, and send them our condolences for the loss of their friend and colleague as they wished us.
It can be much understated to say a “thank you” with just two simple words, but I hope John and all the staff know how big a thank you we wish to convey to them.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
