Ambulance thanks during snow

Sir.–Over the past month in Hampshire, the extreme weather has created very challenging conditions for providers of emergency services.

I would like to thank the many statutory and charitable partners, as well as individual volunteers, who worked with the ambulance service to help us during this time.

I would also like to thank all the staff of South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust who have shown exceptional commitment during this time - being flexible, working long hours and ensuring the best possible service has been delivered to patients.

I would be grateful if you would, through printing this letter, recognise everyone who was involved in helping either directly, or in a support role.

Each one has played a part which has been deeply appreciated by myself, by service colleagues and most importantly, by the patients and public who needed our help.

–Will Hancock, Chief Executive South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust, Bicester, Oxfordshire.
