Big ‘thank-you’ to kind hospital staff

8:55am Friday 13th November 2009

Sir.–I had to go in for an operation on Monday, October 26, at the DTC Suite at Basingstoke hospital.

From the time I went in until the time I came out, all the nurses, doctors, consultants etc showed me the most kind and caring attitude.

Nothing was too much trouble and they were always checking on me and other patients. I was very nervous about my pending operation but they took all that away from me with their constant smiles and words of kindness towards myself and other patients.

While coming around from my anaesthetic, lying in my bed I also noticed the constant attention to cleanliness. As soon as a patient was moved, they were scrubbing the bed down, disinfecting all around and constantly washing their hands, which I found very reassuring knowing about the MRSA bug.

I would just like to conclude by saying a huge ‘thank-you’ to you all. You are one in a million.

–Karen Harvey, Bramley.
