We’re grateful for all your votes during county council elections

Sir.–I am contacting you on behalf of Basingstoke First Community Party. We would like to thank the people of Basingstoke who supported us throughout the recent county council election.

With little under three months in existence, Basingstoke First Community Party is delighted to have received nearly 2,000 votes. We believe this is a promising start for the party, and hope to improve further looking towards the borough elections in 2010.

Basingstoke First Community Party will be working tirelessly for our constituents across the town. We urge residents to contact us with their views, opinions, and any issues that they may currently be facing.

We are actively recruiting candidates to work with Basingstoke First Community Party, and will be happy to speak to prospective candidates.

Finally, we would like to announce the launch of our new website basingstoke. firstcommunityparty.org.uk, which we will be updating regularly with our latest news and activities.

–Phil, Chris, Alex, Rebecca and Mike, Basingstoke First Community Party, Primrose Gardens, Hatch Warren, Basingstoke.

Sir.–We would like to thank everyone who supported our Conservative campaign and who voted for us in the county council elections on June 4.

We are delighted that the Conservative majority on Hampshire County Council has increased and are honoured at the increased support that Basingstoke’s voters gave us.

These elections were played out in a febrile political atmosphere, dominated by the disintegration of the Labour Government and amidst speculation over the future of the Prime Minister.

We invited people to send a signal that Basingstoke wants a General Election. That signal has now been duly sent.

We appreciate the support given to us and pledge ourselves to work as a team to ensure that Basingstoke’s voice continues to be heard clearly in Hampshire.

–Stephen Reid – North West Division Rita Burgess – South West Division Elaine Still – Loddon Division Paul Miller – Central Division Nalin Jayawardena – South East Division Chris Aldous – North Division.

Sir.–I would like to thank all of the people of Whitchurch and Clere Division, for electing me at the county elections this year.

I am deeply grateful and honoured that you chose me to represent you.

I will represent all of my constituents to the very best of my ability and I do invite you to contact me directly if you have any matter that you’d like me to look into.

–Councillor Tom Thacker, St Mary Bourne.
