Support quest for future of NHS

First published in Letters

Sir.–Danny Boyle’s Olympic Opening Ceremony was one of the greatest artistic achievements in our country’s history.

There’s a reason it included a tribute to the NHS and it’s because people here love the National Health Service. There’s also a reason for the word National in NHS and it’s because it covers the whole country.

When it was started, no-one envisaged that private companies and the politicians they support would be so keen to carve it up and try to profit from the health issues of millions of individuals.

A group of normal people, working under the banner of 38 Degrees, are trying to protect the NHS from profiteers and asset strippers. Take a look at their website and please support the preservation of the NHS.
