‘Parking charge not made clear’

Sir.–On Tuesday, November 13, we went to the theatre in London, and were picked up by a coach at the coach stop in Churchill Way at 5pm.
The Festival Place multi-storey car park seemed the most convenient place to leave my car and I did so at 4.30pm. I was expecting to be charged £2 – £1 for 4.30pm to 5pm and £1 for 5pm to 6am the next day.
I was surprised when I collected the car just after midnight to be charged £9 for parking. On reading the small print, I discovered that the reduced rate for overnight parking only applies if you parked after 5pm.
I feel being charged an extra £7 for the 30 minutes parking is outrageous. With today’s computers, it shouldn’t be difficult to change the parking charges to something more equitable.
