Music hall charity show

MUSIC, singing and comedy capers are in stall at an old-fashioned music hall charity show this summer.

Age Concern in Basingstoke are putting on a wealth of musical entertainment in a Music Hall show on July 19, including variety acts, vaudeville, ballads, modern day musicals and plenty of banter along the way.

The evening of Victorian music hall-type entertainment draws in crowds from far and wide with music from a bygone era, and audiences are encouraged to join in and sing.

The Music Hall show was first introduced in Basingstoke by Age Concern in 2003, at the Haymarket Theatre, but moved to The Anvil in 2007 to accommodate a bigger audience, and all money raised will help the charity to continue providing services to local older people.

Tickets cost £14, £12 concessions and can be booked at the Anvil Arts box office on 01256 844244.
