HSM2 comes to the stage

NEW stage production High School Musical 2 Live On Stage! is coming to The Mayflower in Southampton this autumn.

Based on the hit Disney Channel film, and on the back of a successful tour of High School Musical Live On Stage! , the producers are revisiting the tuneful students during their summer holidays as they find jobs.

Troy, Gabriella, Taylor and Chad all land work at an exclusive country club owned by scheming siblings Ryan and Sharpay.

The action builds to the country club’s all important Midsummer Night’s Talent Show, but will the East High Wildcats be ready in time with their friendships still intact?

The original stage show, which is visiting over 50 cities, is still touring and will return to the Southampton theatre for a week only, between April 27 and May 2, and tickets are on sale now.

The second instalment features a score including songs from the sequel’s soundtrack, such as What Time Is It?, You Are The Music In Me and Fabulous.

The production will see a return for director Jeff Calhoun and original choreographer Lisa Stevens and scenic designer Kenneth Foy.

The show is running from October 26 to November 7 and tickets go sale to all on Monday, April 27.
